Messianic Judaism seems unique to many people who are already believers and that maybe why many want to join a Messianic congregation. We’d like to think that we’re more authentic than unique but the fact remains that Jews and those Gentiles called to join with them are commanded to live, worship, and have customs that are distinctive.  For those who argue that there is no Jew or Gentile in Messiah (Galatians 3:28), the same verse also says there is no male nor female; but that doesn’t mean that we have unisex bathroom in our congregations!  The implication in Galatians 3:28 is that relationally there is no difference among men/women/Jews/Gentiles yet each retains their unique callings.  We do have distinctive lifestyle yet what we do and how we do it should NEVER take precedence over why we do it.  That was the issue Yeshua had with the Pharisees.  Law – Good. Legalism – Bad.
